Thank You!

Congratulations!

You've officially joined the Early Reviewer team for my next release, Jeryn's Dagger, the first book in the Empire and Ashes trilogy. I can't wait to send this epic space opera out into the world, and your help will be a huge part of the launch!

Here's how things will work on your end:

1 - When I place Jeryn's Dagger on Amazon for pre-order, there will be an initial 72-hour window when the book is priced at 99c. Obviously, I will not publicize this (the commercial ebook will be around $5 - $6). Only the launch team will receive notification via email so they can acquire a discounted copy (which will ensure a "verified purchase" tag on the review to come later). The pre-order listing date is still TBD, but it should happen sometime in September, and I'll give you plenty of notice via email so you don't miss the 99c window.

2 - When the pre-order window opens, launch team folks will purchase their 99c copy and send me a screenshot of the purchase. Then I'll immediately forward a link where you can download the book to your reading device. Note that I had to add the "proof of purchase" step after getting burned by people in the past who lied about purchasing the book (what a world).

3 - As launch day approaches I'll send a reminder regarding the optimal window to input your rating + review (usually day 3-4 after the book goes live).

4 - You enter a rating and your honest review of the book. It doesn't have to be an essay. Even something as brief as 2-3 sentences is fine.

And, no, this is NOT against Amazon rules (sometimes folks ask about this). Incentivizing good ratings and reviews is a definite no-no and runs contrary to Amazon's terms and conditions. But that's not what we're doing here. I'm giving you a discount window and asking for your honest rating + review. You are under no obligation to do anything once you purchase the ebook.

I'll be reaching out via email soon with specific dates and details. In the meantime if you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask.

Again, thanks so much!

David (aka D.L. Young)
